There's a legitimate, raised, professional-seeming stage now, and the 30-feet-high ceiling over the audience ensures the signature aerialists have plenty of room to swing and soar. As you would expect, the bathroom is fun, decor-wise, and there are serendipitous design discoveries throughout. A long bar, a back bar, and large dance/spectating floor (they break out the folding chairs) complete the picture… except for the tiny, terrific Queen of Falafel shop that's part of the new complex. I've had just about everything here–the Falafel and Shakshuka (poached eggs in harissa-tomato sauce) Sandwiches; the Hummus and Labne Cheese plates–and it's all top-tier stuff. All entrances and spaces within the venue are single-level and accessible to folks in wheelchairs.
If you need to go out and dance on the Lower East Side, Home Sweet Home is, at this point, a classic option. If you have ever been to Pianos to see a band in the back room, you probably didn't expect that it's the kind of place that would turn out some damn good bar food.
